Section 1: WITNESS TWO WITNESS TWO of Corinth, St. David's, came before the Commission on October 29th, 2001. According to this witness, he was unlawfully detained and imprisoned as a Sergeant of Police while he was in charge of, and on duty, at the St. Paul's Police Station. He was picked up and imprisoned on March 13th, 1979 to December 31st, 1981. Regarding his treatment in prison, this witness said that on the first day, he was beaten and kicked, placed in a cell and only allowed to come out for half an hour at a time, under guard, in order to get some sunlight. According to this witness, he was told that he was arrested because he was too close to Gairy. This witness is seeking compensation for deprivation of wages while imprisoned. |
