The Peoples Revolutionary Government (PRG) was run by a Central Committee. Most, though not all, decisions were signed off by Prime Minister Maurice Bishop, Chairman of the Central Committee. The Central Committee was made up of sixteen members and was officially the supreme policy-making body of the party. Its meetings took place in normal circumstances about every month.

The principal day-to-day decisions of the Central Committee were made by the Political Bureau. The eight-man Political Bureau was, in practice, the governing body in Grenada, handling all urgent decisions.
