Paragraph 123. - An Examination in Detail [Part 27] -Report of the 'Special Branch'
123. It is not without interest at this point to read the relevant passage in the report of the Special Branch of the Police Force for the month of November 1973. The report is dated December 13, 1973 and at paragraph 7 the following appears:
"MEMBERS ARRESTED
The following were arrested and charged by the police on Sunday, 18th November, 1974, when it was rumoured that the New Jewel Movement was holding a meeting at Randhani's premises in Grenville to make final decision for overthrow of Government, then to begin firstly by taking over the Grenville Police Station:
- Maurice Bishop - charged for having in his possession ammunition.
- Hudson Austin - charged for having in his possession arms to wit - a .303 rifle.
- Selwyn Strachan
- Unison Whiteman
- Kenrick Bernard Radix
- Simon Daniel
These were arrested for other lesser charges arising from follow-up incidents as the result of the arrest of the first two members."
